Turkey Pot Pie is a delicious way to use up the leftovers from your turkey dinner. Aunt Sandy doesn't top her pot pie with a pie crust but with fresh scratch made biscuits which she will teach you how to make. Follow along this step by step recipe for the ultimate comfort food.

Turkey Pot Pie Ingredients

• 2 cup soup starter
• ⅔ cup butter
• 1 cup celery, diced
• ⅔ cup onion, diced
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp pepper
• ½ tsp garlic powder
• ½ tsp onion powder
• ½ tsp celery seed
• ½ tsp poultry seasoning
• ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
• 1¾ cups chicken broth
• 1⅓ cups milk
• 4 cups cubed leftover cooked turkey

Biscuit Ingredients

• 2 cups self-rising flour (plus ½ cup for biscuit making surface)
• ¼ cup shortening
• ¾ cup buttermilk

Turkey Pot Pie Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F / 177°C.
2. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
3. Place frozen soup starter in a saucepan and add enough water to cover.
4. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer. Drain.
5. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
6. Saute celery and onion till onion is translucent.
7. Add flour, salt, pepper, celery seed, onion powder, and poultry seasoning and whisk into a roux.
8. Slowly whisk in chicken broth and then milk until incorporated.
9. Bring to a simmer and cook, whisking constantly, until roux thickens.
10. Add cooked, drained vegetables and cubed turkey stirring until combined completely.
11. Spoon turkey pot pie filling into dish.
12. Place 12 homemade biscuits (see recipe below) on top of turkey pot pie filling.
13. Bake at 350°F for 40-45 minutes (check at 35 mins.) or till biscuits are golden brown.
14. Remove from the oven and serve.

Biscuit Directions

1. Add flour to a mixing bowl.
2. Add shortening and cut into flour.
3. Flatten out biscuit mixture on floured surface.
4. Cut biscuits using the biscuit cutter of your choice.
