Welcome to my Southern Meatloaf haven! Indulge in the mouth watering flavors of my classic Southern-style meatloaf recipe. For that irresistible finishing touch, my meatloaf recipe is topped with a delectable combination of tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce, ketchup, garlic powder, and a hint of brown sugar. Feel free to customize your meatloaf by adding your favorite hot sauce or steak sauce for an extra kick of flavor.

Meatloaf Ingredients

• 1½ pounds hamburger meat (ground chuck 80/20)
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• ½ bell pepper chopped (optional)
• 1 tsp minced garlic
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp pepper
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
• ½ cup tomato sauce
• 1 Sleeve of saltine crackers or 1½ cup bread crumbs

Topping Ingredients

• ½ cup tomato sauce
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp bbq sauce
• 1 tbsp ketchup
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 tsp (your favorite) hot sauce (optional)
• 1 tsp steak sauce (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a large bowl combine ground beef, garlic, chopped onion, garlic powder, pepper, salt, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, tomatoe sauce, and crushed crackers (or bread crumbs) mix until incorporated.
3. Grease a pan with cooking spray.
4. Form mixture into a meatloaf on top of pan.
5. Place pan in a preheated 350°F oven and cook for 35-40 minutes.
6. Remove pan from oven and drain excess grease.
7. Cover the top of the meatloaf with topping.
8. Place pan back in the oven and cook another 10-15 minutes.
9. Remove pan from oven and drain excess grease.
10. Remove meatloaf from oven, and let stand for 5 minutes.
11. Serve on platter
