Captain's Favorite Dessert, Rum Cake is a delicious dessert that is easy to make at home. This cake is so moist and not overly sweet. A great compliment to a cup of coffee.

Directions
Preheat oven to 325ºF
Put all cake ingredients in mixer and beat for 10 minutes at medium speed.
Grease and flour 10-inch Bundt pan or tube cake pan.
Sprinkle crushed pecans over bottom of cake pan.
Pour cake ingredients in pan and bake at 325°F for 1 hour.
Mix first three sauce ingredients and boil in sauce pan.
Remove pan from heat and add ¼ cup light rum.
When cake is done, let cool for 10 minutes.
Leave cake in pan and pour sauce over the top of cake.
Let cake cool to room temperature.
Loosen cake from pan.
Invert cake pan onto heat resistant plate.
Flip cake onto heat resistant serving cake plate where crushed pecans are on the bottom.
