Cheese Ball: A Versatile Appetizer For Any Occasion. The combination of cream cheese, pineapple, and pecans creates a irresistible sweet and savory flavor with contrasting creamy and crunchy textures. Cheese balls are so easy to serve and share. They make a great centerpiece at a party or gathering, and guests can help themselves. Make sure you have plenty of crackers on hand.

Ingredients

• 2 packages (8oz.) cream cheese, softened
• 2 large cans (20 oz.) crushed pineapple in heavy syrup (not in natural juice), drained completely squeeze in a towel
• 5 tbsp green onion, finely chopped
• 5 tbsp green bell pepper, finely chopped drain water completely squeeze in a towel
• 3 cups, chopped pecans (save 2 cups to roll cheese ball in)
• 1 bunch of parsley
• 1 jar (10oz.) Maraschino Cherries

Directions

1. In a larger mixing bowl add cream cheese, pineapple, green onion, and bell pepper.
2. Mix thoroughly.
3. Add 1 cup of pecans. Mix thoroughly.
4. Make 1 large ball or split mixture in half for 2 smaller balls.
5. Place mixture on a plate and shape into a ball shape of your choosing.
6. Place ball mixture(s) into freezer for 10 minutes to firm up.
7. Take out of freezer and roll ball in pecans until well covered.
8. Put on serving plate and garish with parsley and cherries.
9. Serve with crackers.
